Save the Internet

Internet providers who have laid down the pipes that feed the internet to us are threatening to charge a premium to big companies to ensure that they get the fastest speeds. The internet was founded on the premise that all network traffic is equal and now we are being told that in fact some traffic is more equal than others. In order to provide faster transfer speeds to deep pocket companies, individual users and mom and pop shops will need to have their network speeds limited. Another area of concern is the idea of prioritizing trafic so that internet providers can dictate what type of traffic, whether it’s youtube video, sms, email… and at what speed hat traffic would arrive at your computer.
